How often to Handle New Baby Guinea Pigs and Trembling...
I have a new Texel named Curly. It took a couple of months, but he trusts me enough to take food from me. He comes to the front to greet me now. The biggest improvement has been the ability to pick him up. He's at the stage where he has to be in the right spot to be picked up. Oh, what an adorable little furball he is. He sits fairly still when I hold him, but does try to run. I think it’s more of a desire to explore than to run out of fear. It's going to be a challenge brushing him out. Probably going to take 2 of us tag team style to get it done. Here he is:

Aww, Curly sounds lovely, I do like the Texel coat, it's not too dissimilar to the Lunkarya coat. We were actually advised by the owner not to brush his coat, just to use our fingers to tease out any knots, but all websites say to brush it, daily!!!? She is an expert on the breed though and so far his coat hasn't needed brushing, so she's obviously correct. It's starting to get beautiful now.....I just wish I could upload some 'new' photos!!!! :(
Yes he does sound adorable, and just like Topaz McVitie (New 'official' name because he reminds us of a ginger biscuit!!) :))) because he's also got to that stage now (well he's always been adorable!!) where he's a bit easier to pick up, but he still does run all around the cage! But he's not scared of my hands now and always comes to them thinking I have food, so that's a bonus!
Unfortunately I can't see the image you attached because it says 'content not available' in my country!

I finally got up the courage to brush Curly's coat. I've been monitoring it and hadn't noticed any knots, tangles or anything. I decided to brush him anyway and it worked out well. He's really a furball now 😂! I think once a week brushing him should suffice. I handle him regularly, so if necessary, I'll brush him more often.
