Picked up Dean today. It's hard when you have to wait 9 days to get the ashes back because you start feeling better after losing them and then the emotions rush back when you pick them up and enshrine them in their final resting place.

My tribute to Dean is short. He was the last of my original 4 piggies. He was a very sweet, affectionate and laid back little guy. His way of snuggling was warm and heartfelt. His 6 year, 6 month and 18 day life with us was the longest of all the herd to date, both past and present. It was an honor to have him as my friend. Even after losing Sammy, he was always lively right up until he laid down for the last time. I will miss him always and as with all of my furry friends that pass on, I honor him with the care I give his herd mates, the tribute and annual remembrance I post in his chronicle and the care I take in putting his final resting place together and maintaining it.

Rest in peace until we are reunited in the next life, Mr. Deanie.

Dean is together again with his brother, Sammy; both in this world and over the rainbow bridge.

That is a lovely tribute. He sounds like he was a wonderful companion.

I was going through a bunch of papers trying to find my truck title and I came across these.

They are the posters that were on the cage that Sammy and Dean were in at the humane society. Their names were Mr Crowley and Hades, respectively. Terrible names for such adorable little guys. That's why I changed them. It brought back a lot of memories of our lives together. I thought I'd share them with you guys, since I shared everything else about them with you.

That is sweet. I need to look at old photo albums and figure out a few more things to remember better times. I have a few photos up here and there and really enjoy them.

You do such nice tributes. Lucky piggies got good homes and nice names.

My little Ruby Sue was originally named Capybara. And Lacey was originally named Snow White. Not a bad name but she was tri-color and she had babies in foster care. I couldn’t help thinking about Mae West when she said, “I used to be Snow White but I drifted.”
