My home, ruled by pigs!

My friend Joe P has created detailed instructions for building the oxygen environment he built for his guinea pig, George. George is over 5 years old and has had suffered from heavy breathing at times. The emergency vets and his vet were able to stabilize George by keeping him on oxygen and giving him Lasix. So, Joe built this tank so he could do the same for George while managing him at home.

Would it be possible to resurrect this link or find a picture of this homemade oxygen tank?

This is a pretty old topic (almost 20 years old)

It may be possible to use a decent sized clear plastic storage container with a tight lid can have a hole easily put in the side and tubing put into the container. I'll go see if I can find something useful online. Another option is a 10 gallon fish tank with a lid that you can put a tube through.

I encourage you to write GP Lover using the mailer to see if she still has the info/images or can add anything to this topic.

p.s. after doing a duckduckgo search, I found a fab video with much, much detail that you will be interested in watching. The author did a great job identifying how it was constructed and what he used for his small cat.

In addition, this is a 2015 post on a forum describing a slightly different method that uses plastic connectors. While his/her example links for products used are dead, you can see the images for putting things together. The poster claims several vets okayed this method and another who constructs tanks, said this was what he did:

You don't even need a lid if the box is deep enough to keep the pig from jumping out. Just tape the 0xygen supply tube to the side of the box and put a heavy folded towel over the top.
