This is very exciting news indeed, I can't wait to meet your new biter,. uh, ah, I mean new piggy Wheekers3.

Yeah, flips?! ...I am thinking mites too. I am hoping to get the cage too. - Not sure what all of her junk means.
I have a huge bottle of Ivermectin and will dose immediatly. I plan on keeping her away from Carmella for a period.
I hope this lady doesn't tick me off. I am formulating a kind speech about G.P.s and kids.
Isn't it sort of weird - Carmella and Stella?
Not sure I will keep the name. Idunno.

I'm sorry Wheekers. I know that the piggie that is meant for you will come along. Then, you will know that some things are meant to be (because the new girl will be the one).
Recent development...
I do not know know where to start....I went to Craigslist right after the post above. There was a new listing:
"I have a female guinea pig that needs a home. I am asking $10 for a rehoming fee. No snake food! Serious people only!!!!! THanks!"
So I sent a Email asking for more info and that I would like her. I waited not wanting to get my hopes up. I was crushed when the previous pig did not work out.
I got an Email to call and did.
Yes, they have a guinea pig - a baby and...she nibbles....I asked if she had been listed a week or so ago, and the girl said yes.
I asked if the pig's name was Stella and the girl said yes, it was.
My head was reeling I could not believe what I was hearing. We set up a pick-up at a Del Taco in another nearby town.
I now have Stella, and she is such a cutie. I held her the whole way home ( they gave us a huge ceiling fan box to transport her in :( ) Her fur is very very soft and longish.
She never nibbled once. She is in a quarantine cage and is getting settled in.
Pictures tomorrow when things are calmer, I promise.
I do not know what the deal was. She has been in 3 homes in three days. Poor girl. She will be here forever now.

She has had no bad manners - no biting whatsoever. She did not come with any "junk". I am half expecting to see her cage and accessories on Craigslist for additional money.
Could this be some sort money making scheme? - Adopting free pets and then charging re-homing fees, and selling their possesions later? The girls said the lady who had her before was going to take Stella to the pound, and she adopted her because she felt bad for the pig.
This whole thing is weird, weird, weird. I guess she did need to be here. I don't feel bad about getting her - at all.
She will have a new thread in Cavy chat soon. I won't leave you hanging. This thread is about adoption and that has happened. All parties have been satisfyied. :)

It was meant to be Wheekers3, congratulations on your latest family addition, I can't wait to finally meet her. :)
I am new to this website, glad to see other people love to rescue guinea pigs like I do. Right now, I have four gps, 3 females and 1 male. I just lost Timothy last week, he lived with us for four years after he was rescued from a pet store that was going to feed him to a snake. In his memory I donated his cage to our local shelter. I will soon adopt a female and one of her babies from our local gp rescue. Anyone can rescue guinea pigs, even giving one a home is a great thing. Figure out how many you can care for financially, physically and emotionally. Just watch out that you don't take in more than you can care for, that can lead to big trouble. It is very rewarding to rescue animals, it takes time to work with them if they have been abused but it is worth it.
